Please tell everyone who you are.
Hi there! I’m Marilyn Mifsud – often get Maz for short.
Is Corporate Massage ‘it’ for you or do you apply your skills in private practice? If yes, how and where?
While raising and home-schooling our two sons, I have provided Remedial and Deep Tissue Massage, Bowen/Emmett Neuro-Muscular/Fascia Release Technique, and Cranio-Sacral Therapy from my home clinic and mobile visits, for over 35 years.
In the last 5 years, Corporate Massage has provided a wide variety of areas for me to provide a loving and healing touch to people in diverse workplace environments.
It takes a special kind of person to work as a touch practitioner. Why do you do it?
From very young, I have never liked seeing people in pain. So now from my toolbox of modalities, that I am so grateful to be trained in, I am given an opportunity to make a difference one person at a time, with all with their varied issues.
I apply what is needed at the time for the client, and experience such a joy to see the relief in a person’s face, and better mobility, whether it was after 5 minutes, 15 minutes or an hour session.
How does what you do every day contribute to the greater good of your community, or thinking big, the planet!?
By reaching out to the community with the healing touch of effective therapies, I see people relax and become de-stressed. They leave peaceful, balanced, centered, and more focused to go back to their work, family and wider community.
And importantly, because you’re a normal (super) human, what is the most normal thing about you?
My greatest relaxing chill-out times is working with my precious hubby in our home organic garden. We have an abundance of vegies growing, along with weeds and pests to bring under control. Or I am in my kitchen designing healthy whole plant food dishes, wholemeal breads, colourful salads, and especially yummy raw desserts!
