No merely existing here. Grant is a man who chooses to live life.
Grant is a beautiful example of the diverse range of people who are attracted to helping others through positive touch. Simply, he’s a wonderful practitioner because he walks his own path and always applies his talent and skill with the best of intention.
Please tell everyone who you are.
Hi my name Grant James, I feel I am on this earth to improve and evolve myself, while also helping to improve the lives of other people, in what ever way I can, using the gifts and talents I have.
Is Corporate Massage ‘it’ for you or do you apply your skills in private practice? If yes, how and where?
I do other things as well as corporate massage.
My training background is Ayurvedic Massage and I learned some great body work techniques to help release tension and stress from the body. I have incorporated some of these techniques to chair massage as well as other body work techniques which allows me to get effective results quite quickly.
My biggest passion is in essential oils which I use in massage as well, but also in emotional clearing which I call Body Balancing with Essential Oils. I incorporate energy work and some light body work in this modality as well.
This what I mainly do when I am not doing chair massage and I achieve amazing results with people in helping them to release stuck energy’s at the sub conscious level, which enables them to move forward in life and allows them to achieve their goals. I believe there is a huge need for this type of work in our community and I am starting to train other people in this method also.
I am also trained in Rain Drop Technique, which drips essential oils up the spine and applied to the vita flex points on the feet. I do this work from a room I have set up at home, I am also mobile and I do chair massage at weekend markets as well.
My business name is room2heal and I am in the process of finding another premises to work from.
It takes a special kind of person to work as a touch practitioner. Why do you do it?
My why is when the person gets off the chair and thanks me for helping them to release the pain out of their body and they look and move different to when they first sat down with me.
There is a genuine appreciation from them and that’s why I do it. At that point I feel I have done my part in improving someone’s day.
How does what you do every day contribute to the greater good of your community, or thinking big, the planet!?
Individually, the best thing we can do is help another in that particular moment. I believe this has a rippling effect on other people they come into contact with, because they are feeling better and happier so they are more pleasant to be around.
This then has a positive effect on their work colleagues and their family. If everyone on our planet did that everyday day, it would be a much nicer place to live.
And very importantly, because you’re a normal (super) human, what is the most normal thing about you?
I don’t consider myself to be ‘normal’. What is normal for me is to wake up before the sun rises and do my morning meditation and yoga, stretching or Qi Gong or going for a nature walk. My body and mind really respond well to this practice and its my favourite thing to do.
When the weather is warmer I love to swim in the ocean which has a similar effect on me. I love good food and also enjoy certain types of chocolate.
I am into the Sacred Music scene and volunteer at live events. I play bass guitar and I am in the process of forming a Kirtan rock band. Kirtan means call and response, so it is singing Sacred Mantras (which is a form of meditation) with a modern band format, which is fairly original and a lot of fun. The best analogy to this type of music would be George Harrison’s famous song ‘My Sweet Lord’.
Thanks mate. We love partnering with you!
