Viv’s smiles are infectious.

As someone who understands what stress really feels like, Viv is perfectly placed to spend her days as a skilled massage practitioner.

Viv can think of nothing more satisfying than helping others feel calmer, more relaxed and more able to go about their days feeling better about themselves and the world.

Please tell everyone who you are.

My name is Vivian and I’ve been a qualified massage practitioner specialising in Zen shiatsu for 15 years.

Is Corporate Massage ‘it’ for you or do you apply your skills in private practice? If yes, how and where?

I also have a mobile business whereby I can either treat people in their home. Especially good if they are elderly or unwell. I also treat clients in a room set aside in my home.

Private treatments generally involve shiatsu massage and corrective yoga exercises.

It takes a special kind of person to work as a touch practitioner. Why do you do it?

First of all I needed to work in a relaxing field as my last occupation, teaching, was so stressful for me. Secondly as with teaching I like to help others with what is their most fundamental possession ie: their health.

How does what you do every day contribute to the greater good of your community, or thinking big, the planet!?

Massage allows for relaxation which helps to still the mind and calm the body. A focused mind I feel allows for a deeper awareness and therefore connectedness …. qualities which are badly needed to stem the tide of the overly destructive material culture of today.

And very importantly, because you’re a normal (super) human and like to do normal (super) human things too, what is the most normal thing about you?

I enjoy being in nature, taking walks along the beach and bushland.

Thanks for sharing with us all Viv. We think you’re pretty special.
